develop the leadership skills of inner-city youth between the ages of 5-21. DMK is The Denver Marching Knights is a non-profit organization created in August 2001 to dedicated to the achievement and advancement of all youth by giving them something to do in a safe and caring environment helping them to build positive leadership traits through training, which includes self-discipline, personal responsibility and respect for self and others. This organization strongly believes obedience to parents and respect for their self is a must. We are committed to helping youth stay in school and church. DMK youth are leaders they set examples for others and have a positive attitude at all times. The year 2010 Is a new year for the Marching Knights we celebrated 9 years of existence. Over the past nine years our continued sponsors throughout the years have been The Denver Foundation, Unity Church Of God In Christ (Pastor Lamar Kennedy) The Glenarm Recreation Center a part of the Denver Parks and Recreation Division (Oliver Van) and Community support from people like you. We thank you for continuously believing in our vision! And lets not forget the others who have helped us along the way: Pipkin Mortuary, The Epworth Foundation, Airport Concessions Inc, The Denver Black Sheriffs Protective Association, The East Denver YMCA, Gospel Temple COGIC (Pastor David Washington), The Metro Denver Black Church Initiative, Bill Nelson, The Wichita Dynamic Steppers, The Warfield Corporation, and the Denver Community. There are many more then these few we have listed but to all of you we greatly thank and appreciate all you have done to continue the vision of the Denver Marching Knights. Starting Tuesday September 28 the Aye program a partnership between Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, the Math Literacy Project, The Denver Marching Knights, and other groups will start this program is open to Youth 12-18 and will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-7pm @ Cleo Parker Dance 119 Park Avenue West Denver, CO 80205 20th and Washington across the street from Safeway Call 303-295-1759 to enroll in this program or call 720-863-4592 to get more information on the Marching Knights |
